Shavaun Stewart more popularly known as Jinyus is a Jamaican Dancehall / Reggae artist born in Kingston, Jamaica and known for his witty wordplays, diversity and creative style of music.
The young entertainer first went viral in 2007 when a demo recording of his song
called “Ova 500 Gunz” got leaked and was transferred mainly via Bluetooth with the rise of smartphones. Then in 2008 Jinyus went viral yet again when footage of him freestyling in high school was uploaded to YouTube.
Jinyus met Grammy-winning recording artist, Bounty Killer, following Jinyus’
performance at a stage show hosted by Bounty in June 2011. Killer found the young performer quite favorable and later announced that Jinyus is now a member of Bounty’s Alliance Portmore Regime (APR) at a concert held in Portmore Jamaica in September 2011. Jinyus later did numerous shows and mixtapes with the Portmore Alliance before the split up of the APR.
The lyricist then went on to do features with a number of more established dancehall artists, Grammy winning and Billboard charting producers, as well as making appearances in sketches with popular Jamaican comedians and accompanying Dancehall entertainer Aidonia on his “Frsh Drop Tour” in August of 2023 following the success of Jinyus’ song ‘Bare Noise’ on the ‘Frsh Drop Riddim’ which peaked at number 4 on “iTunes US Reggae Singles Chart”.
October 21, 2023, Jinyus released his first studio album entitled ‘Trouble’ which debuted at number 4 on iTunes ‘US Reggae Albums Chart’ and climbed to the number one spot the very next day.
